The BER of the noncoherent CSS receiver over AWGN, SER M/(2(M - 1)).

Parameters:

• sf (int) – spreading factor.

• snr_db (float | array_like) – SNR per sample (dB).

Returns:

the BER.

Return type:

float | numpy.ndarray

Raises:

ValueError – for an invalid parameter or input (the message names it).
