comnum.low_pass_fir(fc, fs, n_taps, *, kind='rect')#

Low-pass FIR of cut-off fc at the sampling rate fs, unit DC gain (OptiCommPy lowPassFIR).

Parameters:

  • fc (float) – cut-off frequency (Hz).

  • fs (float) – sampling rate (Hz).

  • n_taps (int) – number of taps.

  • kind (str) – "rect" (truncated sinc) or "gauss" (Gaussian, 3 dB at fc).

Returns:

the taps (float64).

Return type:

numpy.ndarray

Raises:

ValueError – for an invalid parameter (the message names it).
