comnum.symbols(constellation, n, rng, *, px=None)#

Random symbols and their indices.

Parameters:

  • constellation (Constellation) – the alphabet.

  • n (int) – number of symbols.

  • rng (Rng) – the generator.

  • px (array_like, optional) – probabilities of the points (uniform by default).

Returns:

the indices (int64) and the symbols (complex128).

Return type:

tuple[numpy.ndarray, numpy.ndarray]

Raises:

ValueError – for an invalid parameter or input (the message names it).
