comnum.balanced_photodiode(e1, e2, fs, rng, *, photodiode=None)#

Balanced detection i(E₁) - i(E₂).

Parameters:

  • e1 (array_like) – the field on the first photodiode (√W).

  • e2 (array_like) – the field on the second photodiode (√W).

  • fs (float) – sampling rate (Hz).

  • rng (Rng) – the generator of the noises.

  • photodiode (Photodiode, optional) – the photodiodes (ideal by default).

Returns:

the photocurrent (A, float64).

Return type:

numpy.ndarray

Raises:

ValueError – for an invalid parameter or input (the message names it).
