comnum.owc_illuminance(positions, directions, mode, intensity_cd, point, normal)#

The illuminance (lx) at point, on a surface of normal normal, of LED chips of centre luminous intensity intensity_cd (Komine & Nakagawa 2004, eq. (5)).

Parameters:

  • positions (array_like) – (n, 3) positions of the chips (m).

  • directions (array_like) – (3,) or (n, 3) their axes.

  • mode (float | array_like) – the Lambertian mode, shared or per chip.

  • intensity_cd (float) – the luminous intensity on the axis (cd).

  • point (array_like) – (3,) the point lit.

  • normal (array_like) – (3,) the normal of the surface.

Returns:

the illuminance (lx).

Return type:

float

Raises:

ValueError – for an invalid parameter or input (the message names it).
